Vassilakis Named Woman of the Year by Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce ReaLife WebDesigns Founder Feted for Chamber Volunteerism REDONDO BEACH/Calif. March 29, 2008 – Honoring years of leadership, the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce named Mary A. Vassilakis, founder of ReaLife WebDesigns, Woman of the Year. She will be honored at the annual Women in Business conference being held at the Manhattan Beach Marriott on April 18, 2008. ReaLife WebDesigns has been active in the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce since 2001 and Mary has served on the Women in Business Committee since 2004. Vassilakis maintains the ManhattanBeachChamber.net Web site and its MBWIB.com Web site for the annual Women in Business conference. Both Web sites include eCommerce capabilities, and the WIB Web site has an extensive administrative system to facilitate committee members in organizing and managing meetings, registrations, sponsorships, advertising, contributions, and tabletop exhibits for the annual WIB conference. “I’m delighted to be honored by this important business organization,” said Vassilakis. “It’s gratifying to see that my work is helping local business leaders through the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.” Vassilakis started in Web development while teaching application classes at the University of Southern California. Intrigued by the Web and knowing her love for design and desire to express her creativity prompted her to embark on a career in Web development.
